DO YOU KNOW YOUR GHOST IN YOUR SHELL?

This past weekend, I viewed the Japanese remake of The Ghost in the Shell. A SciFi film, The Ghost in the Shell focuses on preserving the brain, then encasing the brain in a mechanical human like body.

The story wants you to think, if the brain survives then the essence of the person is still there, even in a mechanical shell. It's a movie, and its hard to capture the intangible, but the brain is the steering wheel for the human shell-the body. The mind is intangible, and is the essence of one's ego and soul!

 Jim and five-thousand other passengers and crew are traveling to a new planet. Their one hundred and twenty-year journey is spent asleep in a hibernation pod. After thirty years floating in space, a malfunction of the spacecraft opens Jim's pod ninety years early. After one year alone with just an android as his only friend, Jim wakes up Aurora.

Aurora is a writer from New York and wants to tell a unique story of her travels to the new planet and back. When Aurora finds out Jim deliberately woke her up,  she feels betrayed. But in the end, if she did not wake up early, Aurora would not be able to write her story. Then her fellow passengers would not know about her experiences with Jim, while they were sleeping.

I see Passengers as a metaphor for waking up to our immortal nature. It is very difficult to relate to someone at the deepest level, while they're still asleep and you are awake!

The Eternal Bond: #116: Are you familiar with the comic book superhero, Dr. Strange?

Dr. Strange is trained as a neurosurgeon and is totally influenced by his rational ego. He gets into a car accident and damages his nerves and ligaments in his hands. Now, his identity as a western doctor is destroyed. Depressed and distraught, he discovers a case where a man completely recovers from a spinal injury. In disbelief, he talks with the miracle man. The man says, he traveled to the east and by changing his mind he was able to heal.

I am in Kathmandu. This site is where Dr. Strange was filmed. 

The doctor enters the east and meets with the Ancient One. The ancient sorceress opens the doctor's ego and talks about Chakras, Acupuncture, the Spiritual Soul and surrendering to the Spiritual Forces of the Universe.

The Soul Mate Prep Blog#113. THE FORCE AWAKENS TO THE HEROINE'S JOURNEY...

When the first Star Wars movie hit theaters, I was 11 years old, I hated the movie and the sequels that followed. Fast forward to 1998, I am flipping through the channels and the first Stars Wars is playing. The scene was Luke, Hans Solo and Obi-Wan, Hans Solo says, "There is no mystical energy controlling this universe." I said, "Where have I been" and since then I am a big, Star Wars fan.

The Force Awakens disappointed me at first, but I started to think about what I just experienced and I realize the Heroine's journey is upon us. 

The new age is upon us and as a society, we need the hero and heroine for the sexes to truly be equal!

Did you see Jupiter Ascending? This is another movie relating to the heroine's journey!

The Soul Mate Prep Blog#112: DO WE STILL WANT RELATIONSHIPS FOR PRACTICAL REASONS?

A commercial for Campbell Soup appeared on my TV screen last night and I was not happy with the message.

A man tells his girlfriend his mom used to make him soup when he was sick. She says, "Oh that's great," she gets the phone and says, "Call your mom."

This is a classic- CO-DEPENDENT AND DEPENDENT RELATIONSHIP!

GRANTED IN THE PAST, WOMEN WERE EXPECTED TO MAKE THE SOUP AND THAT IS BEING THE SERVANT. HOWEVER, THE MAN TOOK CARE OF HIS WIFE AKA-THE CO-DEPENDENT to the DEPENDENT!!

As women we still want men to take care of us BUT not the other way around.  In AN INTERDEPENDENT RELATIONSHIP BOTH ARE TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER AND ARE TRUE LOVERS AS OPPOSED TO THE CODEPENDENT AND DEPENDENT!!!!

WHEN we TRULY CARE, we WANT TO TAKE CARE of each other AS OPPOSED TO WHAT CAN THE OTHER PERSON DO FOR ME!

DO YOU WANT AN EQUAL INTERDEPENDENT RELATIONSHIP?

OR THE OLD- FASHIONED, CO-DEPENDENT/DEPENDENT?
